VIII-83 - Misattribution Can Correct Misinformation
In two experiments, we changed the misinformation paradigm to explore a new misinformation correction strategy. Original (true) information was distorted by (false) contradictions introduced by a questionnaire (E1). Original (false) information was distorted by (true) contradictions that were misattributed to the initial source (E2), correcting the false initially encoded information.
